SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable.
In clear skies, the planet Jupiter will be visible as a brilliant "star" in the east after sunset. With binoculars, the planet's largest moons can be seen as points of light nearby. One of those points is Europa. Within hours, our #JunoMission will be there.🧵 1/6
An unfunded Space Act Agreement to conduct a study of a commercial mission to boost Hubble’s orbit and extend its operations was signed by @NASA and @SpaceX – a mission concept that may be applied to other spacecraft and commercial vehicles:
NASA, SpaceX to Study Hubble Telescope Reboost Possibility
NASA and SpaceX signed an unfunded Space Act Agreement Thursday, Sept. 22, to study the feasibility of a SpaceX and Polaris idea to boost the agency’s Hubble Space Telescope into a higher orbit with the Dragon spacecraft, at no cost to the government.
Webb, Hubble Capture Detailed Views of DART Impact
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope and Hubble Space Telescope captured views of a unique NASA experiment designed to intentionally smash a spacecraft into a small asteroid in the world’s first-ever in-space test for planetary defense. These observations also mark the first time that Webb and Hubble simultaneously observed the same celestial target.
In the next several hours, the #JunoMission will fly by Jupiter's moon Europa. It’s expected to be a little more than 200 miles from the icy moon's surface - the closest a @NASA spacecraft has been since 2000. (For perspective, that's less than the distance from LA to Las Vegas!)
NASA's @SpaceX #Crew5 mission to the @Space_Station is now targeted to launch no earlier than noon ET (1600 UTC) on Wednesday, Oct. 5, as agency and SpaceX teams continue to monitor the impacts of Hurricane Ian on the Space Coast and @NASAKennedy:
